Once upon a time, Mr. & Mrs. Bunny lived in a burrow under a maple tree down the road from Mr. McGregor's Garden. One night, Mr. Bunny answered a knock on the door and discovered four baby bunnies in a basket. Mrs. Bunny sewed pink pinafores for the three girls and a blue jacket for the boy. One day, Mr. & Mrs. Bunny took their new family for a walk. Mr. Owl asked what the names of the baby bunnies were. Mr. & Mrs. Bunny were rather surprised, as they hadn't thought to give their babies names.

They decided to name them Floppsy after Mrs. Bunny's sister, and Moppsey because it sounded cute, and Cottontail after Mr. Bunny's mother. But the boy bunny, Peter, was missing. Mrs. Bunny cried, and Mr. Bunny hunted all over, and found the missing Peter under a flowerpot in Mr. McGregor's garden.

His nice new jacket was missing some buttons and Mrs. Bunny wondered what had happened to them, but that is another story for another day.
