lonely fairy

Once there was a lonely fairy who lived in a dark and dreary woods.
A canopy of leaves filtered the sunlight and dimmed the path – with few butterflies to brighten the way, or flowers to bloom.
But in the quiet and stillness of the night, stars twinkled and fireflies lit the path,
Providing wonders of inspiration from nature’s creation, lifting the gloom.

Most of her time was spent sleeping and dreaming of gardens she remembered.
One day she awoke from a dream with a vision of a beautiful garden, secret and enchanting at a glance.
She drifted aloft in search of fanciful things to create her secret delight and flew home bringing seeds and plants.

Amid the light of the stars and fireflies she sang and carried her treasures to nooks and crannies where they rooted and grew.
By morning she skipped about sprinkling drops of dew on the growing plants with gentle touch and encouraging words,
And within this nurturing environment new leaves and flowers appeared, bringing butterflies, bees and the melodious sound of birds.

The fairy was pleased with this wonderful creation, springing from the once dark and dreary woods,
But something was missing – a need to share her secret with someone special who could work beside her so to enhance,
And chase the loneliness away – replaced by flowers, butterflies and other wonderful things now created by two kindred spirits, making the fairies dance.
